What is included in backups
These are the settings that are backed up.
Wave Link on Windows
- Channel configuration and order
- Audio effects, including which channel they are applied to and any settings
- Windows application audio routing settings

When do backups occur
Backups occur in one of two ways.
- Automatically: When Wave Link is closed, for example, when shutting down your computer, a backup is created.
- Manually: You can manually make a backup at any time.
Save or restore backup on Windows
1) Find the Wave Link icon in the Windows system tray and right-click the icon.
2) Select Backup and Restore.
3) There will be two folders, one with automatic backups and one with manual backups.
4) To manually create a backup, click on Save current mixer settings.
5) Give the backup file a name and click on ok.
6) To export a backup to a different location, select a backup file, right-click, and then choose export.
7) Select the destination and click on save.
8) Select automatic or manual backup to restore a profile and click on restore.
9) To restore a backup saved elsewhere, click on import, use the file browser to locate the .wavelink file, and click on open.
Save or restore backup on macOS
1) Find the Wave Link icon in the macOS system taskbar.
2) Right-click the icon and select Backup and Restore.
3) There will be two folders, one with automatic backups and one with manual backups.
4) To manually create a backup, click on Save current mixer settings.
5) Give the backup file a name and click on ok.
6) To export a backup to a different location, select a backup file, right-click, and then choose export.
7) Select the destination and click on save.
