This guide will cover Facecam MK.2 High Dynamic Range settings.
What is High Dynamic Range (HDR)
High Dynamic Range (HDR) on the Facecam MK.2 enhances video quality by quickly combining multiple exposures—one at a high exposure to reveal detail in shadow areas and one at a low exposure to reveal detail in bright areas. This results in a balanced image where dark and bright areas maintain detail.
HDR preserves details in an image's darkest and brightest parts, avoiding overexposed highlights and underexposed shadows. This leads to a more balanced and realistic image, especially in challenging lighting conditions.
Dynamic Range settings
Standard: This mode balances the bright and dark areas of the image. It's a good starting point for most scenarios and will work well in environments with consistent lighting.
High: Brings out the most detail in the image's darkest and brightest parts. This mode is ideal for high-contrast situations where you want to preserve as much detail as possible in all areas of the frame.
Note: HDR is automatically disabled when the Facecam MK.2 is set to a video resolution of 720p120. This is to maintain the camera's performance and quality at higher frame rates.
