Best
After you select a different quality, Elgato Game Capture HD will automatically adjust the video bitrate for you.
Bit Rates and Storage Space
As you change the Quality, the amount of disk space needed per hour of recording will also change.
1080p Recordings
The Quality bit rate range is between 15 and 30 Mbit/sec.
1080i Recordings
The Quality bit rate range is between 15 and 30 Mbit/sec. The Storage space is between 7 and 14 GB/hour.
720p Recordings
The Quality bit rate range is between 5 and 10 Mbit/sec. The Storage space is between 2.3 and 4.6 GB/hour.
480p Recordings
The Quality bit rate range is between 4 and 8 Mbit/sec. The Storage space is between 1.9 and 3.8 GB/hour.
Preserve Source Format
If you choose to Preserve Source Format, then Elgato Game Capture HD will try to match the original resolution and frame rate of the video.
For example, if you have 720p video at 60 fps (59.94 fps), then Preserve Source Format will keep the video at that frame rate.
Stretch Standard Definition Input
If you choose to Stretch Standard Definition Input, then anamorphic video will appear as 16:9, instead of 4:3. This can be useful when watching some DVDs.
