Elgato Game Capture HD 2.5
What’s new in Elgato Game Capture HD 2.5?
Stream Command – Add your webcam. Customize your content with image overlays. Or set up a professional looking stream in seconds with free-to-use Curated Scenes!
New Software Architecture – To make Stream Command work, we’ve completely re-implemented how gameplay video, gameplay audio, webcam video and live commentary audio are synced. Yes, that means we removed our old syncing code and re-wrote a lot of it from scratch. This was a major undertaking, but well worth the effort. Now, even if your system load peaks, all sources will resume syncing when your system recovers. In other words, sources drifting apart from each other is an issue of the past.
Elgato Game Capture HD60 S Support – Ultra-low-latency capture now works on your Mac, and includes powerful GPU-accelerated hardware encoding* to reduce CPU load. Thinking of picking up one of the new Macbook Pro’s? The HD60 S has you covered as it’s the first capture card to feature the modern USB-C connector. All you need is a USB-C to C cable, no adapter required.
* Hardware encoding does not work on all Mac models. Click here to see if your Mac is supported.
Additional Streaming Services – Stream directly to the world’s biggest social network via our native Facebook Live support. Or stream to multiple destinations (like Twitch and YouTube) simultaneously with newly added Restream.io support.
Stream Archive – Saving a copy of your stream locally is now as easy as ticking a checkbox.
PlayStation®VR Support – We’re ready when you are.
macOS Sierra Support – Game Capture 2.5 is ready for Apple’s latest OS.
Additional Improvements
In addition to eliminating sync bugs, this version contains literally hundreds of performance enhancements. Many are concealed under the hood while others, including a button to disable your preview, are readily accessible via the Game Capture interface.
What’s Ahead
Game Capture 2.5 finally brings stability and syncing back to Mac. Time to rest on our laurels and… just kidding! We have big plans in the pipeline. After all, Game Capture for Mac must still catch up with its Windows counterpart. That said, with our revamped architecture now in place, we can focus on adding even more exciting features. Topping our list are highly requested web and text overlays, which will enable you to spice up your streams with alerts, stream labels, “Now playing” overlays, and more!
