Note: Wave Link has now been updated to version 3. This reimagining has all-new features and an improved interface overall. Wave Link 3 is free, and will also work with a wide variety of microphones, not just those from Elgato.
Wave:1 and Wave:3 feature a switchable Low Cut Filter that helps remove low-frequency interference, specifically frequencies under 120Hz. These sounds occur for various reasons.
For example, when typing on a keyboard, and the vibration travels through the microphone stand into the capsule or a car driving by or a plane flying overhead. The Low Cut Filter will prevent the boomy sound of those low frequencies.
If the Wave:1 or Wave:3 are mounted on a microphone arm and/or using a Shock Mount, or low frequency sounds are not a concern, then the Enhanced Low Cut Filter can be turned off, which can provide added low end sound in voices which is appealing for achieving the podcast/radio tone.
Note: If you use your Wave:1 or Wave:3 with your PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, or PlayStation 5, your microphone will use its default settings of Clipguard Enabled and Enhanced Low Cut Filter Off. These options can only be adjusted when connected to a computer with Wave Link.
Enable/Disable the Enhanced Low Cut Filter
1) Open Wave Link
2) Click on the area where the microphone name and icon are on the microphone input
3) In the microphone settings, check the Enhanced Low Cut Filter box to enable it, or uncheck to disable it.
