Firmware updates for Facecam 4K deliver the latest image quality improvements and bug fixes.
Note: When performing a firmware update, it is critical that the update is NOT interrupted. While updating, please ensure the following:
- ⚠️ Do not disconnect Facecam 4K.
- ⚠️ Do not close or quit Camera Hub.
- ⚠️ Do not shut down your computer
Facecam Firmware Version Information
Changes in Firmware 2.49
Requires Camera Hub version 2.3 or newer.
The enhancements in firmware 2.49 include:
- Improved 2D and 3D noise reduction resulting in less noise
- Less motion blur
- Better color accuracy (especially for red and pink)
- Less noise in uniform colors
- Better contrast
- Improved overall sharpness
- Increased target luma for brightness, fine tuned gamma
- Reduced flatness and improved dynamic range in HDR
- Enhanced facial details in both SDR and HDR modes
Changes in Firmware 2.32
Requires Camera Hub version 2.1 or newer.
The enhancements in firmware 2.49 include:
- Facecam 4K works now with the Nintendo Switch 2.

Firmware Update Steps
1) Download and install the latest version of Camera Hub from http://www.elgato.com/downloads
2) Close any programs and applications that may use Facecam 4K. For example, OBS Studio, XSplit, Zoom, Teams, and Slack.
3) Open Camera Hub
4) Press and hold the CTRL key (Windows) / Command Key (macOS) on your keyboard, and while doing so click on the Facecam settings button
5) Release the keyboard key, and click "Update Firmware..."
6) If a newer firmware update is available, begin the update.
7) Once the update is complete, Facecam 4K will automatically restart and appear in Camera Hub.
Note: Please don't disconnect Facecam 4K, quit Camera Hub, or shut down your computer while the update progresses.
