System Requirements and Notes
• 4th generation quad‑core Intel Core i5 CPU (i5-4xxx or comparable)
• Built-in USB 3.x port
- Currently, a quad core Intel i5 or better is needed to reliably achieve 1080p60 capturing. By quad core we mean a real quad core i5, not the dual-core-with-hyperthreading i5. This also holds true for i7's. MacBook Airs can have i7's in them, but they're ultra low power dual core i7's. The only recent computers that fall into the real-quad-core range are the 15' MacBook Pros, iMacs and Mac Pros.

Why are the System Requirements so high?
- Some of you may be wondering why the Mac specs are so high at this time. The biggest hurdle here is Mac OS X itself. It's no secret that Mac OS X limits the access that developers have to the hardware, and without this direct access, less optimization can be done. On Windows we have access to Intel's QuickSync for encoding and it works wonderfully. On Mac OS X QuickSync can be used as well, but only with certain parameters, and we have very little control over what it does or even when it activates as this is controlled by Mac OS X. We have been and continue to work hard on optimization, and our developers are speaking directly to Apple engineers to understand what more can be done.
I can't capture 1080p at a reliable 60fps, what can I do?
- The first thing to try is setting the resolution to 720p so that you can keep capturing at 60fps. If that does not work, uncheck "Allow 60fps" in the quality settings. Frame rate has a much bigger performance impact than resolution, which means 1080p30 will likely work better than 720p60.
