Elgato Game Capture HD60 is designed to record video games on your computer using an USB 2.0 connection, while you play them live on your TV or other HDMI connected display.
The image in the Elgato Game Capture HD software on your Mac or PC will be delayed from live by almost a second due to the H.264 compression chip in the Elgato Game Capture HD60 hardware. Therefore, it will not be possible to play the game while viewing it in the Elgato Game Capture HD window.
Instead, Elgato Game Capture HD60 sends the live image to your TV set, via HDMI. That way, you can play in real time on your TV, without a delay, while you use your computer to record.
