The Elgato Chat Link Pro Cable allows you to send console audio to both your headset and to your capture card analog port.
Important Notes
- Your headset microphone will only be sent back to your console, and is not routed to your capture card with the exception of headsets or controllers that support Mic Monitoring mentioned below.
- While some setups may allow Mic Monitoring on the console to loop your mic audio back into the Chat Link cable, this would result in hearing your own voice when speaking. We recommend using a separate microphone connected to your computer to capture your half of the conversation.
- PCIe capture cards and Elgato Game Capture Neo have no analog port however, if using a desktop, the computer's Line-in port can be used instead. This option is typically not available on laptops which don't have analog inputs.
Missing any or all audio in capture
- Verify that the appropriate connections are made. The end with the Ground Loop Isolator should connect to the capture card.
- Verify the console is set to stereo or Linear PCM audio where applicable. Surround sound of any kind is not compatible.
- Verify there is audio in the headset and if not, connect the headset directly to the controller instead, can the audio be heard in the headset without the Chat Link Pro connected? If the audio is still missing, test another headset, another controller or make sure the console is set to route the audio to the headset.
- For capture cards with an analog port, while using the Chat Link Pro Cable, can the audio be heard from the TV connected to the HDMI output from the capture card? This is to ensure audio is routing to the capture card properly.
- Has analog audio been enabled within the Elgato Studio Software?
