Elgato - Capture devices and ARC (Audio Return Channel)

This article goes over Elgato capture card compatibility with ARC (Audio Return Channel) feature of HDMI. 

 

Elgato capture devices do not support ARC (Audio Return Channel) or eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel). 

 

When using a capture card between a display and speakers for ARC, the display will not recognize the capture card as being ARC capable.
