Elgato Account Types: Marketplace vs. Webstore
Elgato offers two distinct services for acquiring products, each requiring a separate account:
- Marketplace: This platform is used for downloading plugins and digital content. You’ll need to create a dedicated Marketplace account to access it.
- Elgato Webstore: When purchasing hardware (like a Stream Deck), you can create an account on Elgato.com or Corsair.com. These accounts are used for physical product purchases.
Important: These accounts are completely separate and managed independently. Logging into one does not grant access to the other.
Example
If you bought a Stream Deck Scissor Key from Elgato.com, you used an Elgato Webstore account.
Later, when you want to install plugins for your Stream Deck, you’ll need to visit the Marketplace and create a separate Marketplace account.
You can choose to use the same email or password for both accounts, but they are stored in different systems. For security, it’s recommended to use unique login credentials for each service, including Elgato.com and Marketplace.
Payment Methods For Marketplace
These are the supported payment types and methods for Marketplace:
- Mastercard
- Visa
- American Express (Amex)
- Discover
This list is specifically for the Marketplace, and not the Elgato webstore, which has additional payment options.
Marketplace does not have direct ties to Google Pay, Apple Pay or PayPal.
