Elgato Mac Reporter (Version 2) - Uploads data and offers troubleshooting.
The Elgato Support team will recommend what version you should use. By default, Version 2 is the latest and offers the most options.
Using Elgato Mac Reporter (Version 2)
1) Quit all of your Elgato Applications before the next step. That will help with the information collection.
2) Find the "Elgato Reporter.app" file you downloaded , then launch it.
3) There will be an option to "Crash Dumps" and "BSOD Dumps" but only use that if directed by Elgato Support. Click "Get Started" to begin to report an issue. All data is collected locally, and Elgato never shares your data.
4) The process to gather information will take a couple of minutes.
5) Next, you will be asked if you have a Support ticket or not:
- Yes, I have a ticket - You are working with Elgato support and received a Support ticket number
- No, I don't have a ticket - You are not working with Elgato support, or you never received a Support ticket number.
6) You will be given a form to tell us about your issue. If you selected Yes, I have a ticket, you will be asked for your ticket number, and about your situation. If you selected No, I don't have a ticket, you will fill out the same form, but will not be asked for a ticket number. Then, press "Continue".
7) After filling out the form, you can review the information you will provide. Then, press the "Submit report" button.
8) Your report will go through three phases - Preparing, Sending, then Analyzing.
9) The Elgato Reporter will give you some options that may help, including Troubleshooting steps and new software downloads, if applicable to your situation. You can tell the Reporter if the steps Resolved your issue, or if there was No change.
10) The Reporter will give you the option to Get help from our team. Press Yes, I need help.
11) The Reporter will review your responses while sending the data to Elgato.
12) You will be given a Support ticket number, and then contacted via email.
