Elgato Ring Light can be connected to a Wi-Fi network for wireless control from a PC, Mac, iOS device, Android Device or Elgato Stream Deck.
Ring Light Wifi Network Requirements
For Elgato Ring Light to connect to a WiFi network, the network can be configured as:
Wireless configuration: 2.4 GHz / 5 GHz, 802.11 a/b/g/n
Supported encryption: WPA2 + AES, WPA + TKIP/AES
Advanced Network Recommendations
If the Wi-Fi router and Elgato Ring Light are in the same room or within 10-15 feet, connecting Elgato Ring Light to a 5Ghz network is recommended.
If the Elgato Ring Light is further than 15 feet from the Wi-Fi router or there are barriers such as a wall, connecting to a 2.4Ghz network is recommended.
Ensure that these services are enabled on the Wi-Fi router:
Multicast
Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP)
mDNS
Ensure that these services are disabled on the router, as they could prevent Ring Light from pairing or wireless control from other devices:
AP/client isolation
Virtual Private Networks (VPNs)
Proxy Servers
IGMP Proxy
