Elgato Ring Light - Troubleshooting Firmware Update issues

The following article is for a product that is now considered Legacy (EOL) status. Because of this, the information below may not match what is possible with current Elgato hardware and software.

If you are having issues updating the Firmware for your Elgato Ring Light, whether this is happening on macOS or on Windows 10, then please try the following:

  • Make sure you are using the latest Control Center software for your operating system
     
  • Sometimes it may help to try to update in wireless and in Ethernet mode via your computers connection to the Router
     
  • Distance may also impact the Firmware Update, try moving the Ring Light and Computer closer to the Router
     
  • Please make sure to check the Firmware of your router as it may also get important updates regarding Wi-Fi stability
