System Action — Open
Open lets you open an Application, Files, or Folders. You can search for the application/file by selecting the Folder or File Icon. You can also drag and drop them into the app/file field.
It'll use the default application set within the OS when opening a file.
Please Note: If you want to open a Shell Script:
1) Create a ".sh" file containing the script. Make sure the script has the executable flag set.
2) Use the Open action in Stream Deck to choose the desired ".sh" file
System Action — Close
Close lets you close an open application. You can search for the application by selecting the File Icon. You can also drag and drop the application into the app field.
Please note that for some web-based/AppData applications like Discord, the Close action may stop working after the app updates and needs re-selected.
System Action — Website
Website opens a site (URL or URI) with your default web browser. Enter the Web Address (URL) or File Address (URI) you wish to visit.
GET request in background can be used to trigger webhook URLs such as IFTTT applets.
System Action — Hotkey Switch
Hotkey Switch toggles between two hotkeys. This is a great way to switch between actions such as copying/pasting or muting/unmuting your microphone.
Are you using multiple keys? You can enter one key at a time, which automatically combines them.
For example, Control+R may Start Recording or Stop Recording. To make sure you don't Stop Recording accidentally, try this when creating your Hotkey:
- Press Control, then let go of that key
- Press R, and let go of that key
Your Hotkey will appear as Control+R.
System Action — Hotkey
Hotkey lets you assign a character and can be associated with a command in an application or your OS.
Once you choose this Hotkey, it will be immediately activated.
Using multiple keys? You can enter one key at a time, which automatically combines them.
For example, Windows users can use Alt+F4 to quit a program. To make sure you don't quit something accidentally, try this when creating your Hotkey:
- Press Alt, then let go of that key
- Press F4 and let go of that key
Now, your Hotkey will appear as Alt+F4.
System Action — Text
Text types out pre-defined text such as notes, links, and ASCII characters. You also have the option to press Enter after your message.
System Action — Multimedia
Multimedia lets you control your media player in your OS.
Action includes:
- Previous Track
- Play / Pause
- Next Track
- Stop
- Mute
- Increase Volume
- Decrease Volume
Each of these commands will have a different icon associated with it.
Pro Tip: Create a Stream Deck folder containing all your multimedia actions. Providing easy access from one interface.
