Supported Image Types

Image formats:

• PNG
• JPEG
• GIF
• BMP
• WEBP
• Animated WEBP

Icon image size

Icon images should have a minimum resolution of 72 x 72 pixels (1:1 ratio). 

Images with larger pixel sizes will be resized automatically to fit the key. 

Images with an aspect ratio other than 1:1 will be resized to fit the key with the original aspect ratio unchanged. 

Change Key Icon

There are multiple ways to change the icon of a key. 

1) Select the Key. 

2) On the left-side icon, right-click or select the dropdown arrow to view icon options:

• Set from file: Select an image via the file browser.
• Create new icon: Opens Elgato Key Creator in the default browser.
• Open Stream Deck icon library: Opens the icon library showing icons from installed icon packs. Additional icon packs can be downloaded from the Stream Deck store. 

Additionally, icons from the file browser or desktop can be drag-and-dropped directly onto the selected key in the property inspector. 

Actions with two states (on / off)

Some actions may have a second state, for which the icon can also be customized. 

When an icon is set for the "on" state, a slightly dim version is automatically generated and set for the "off" state.

You can set your own "off" state icon by selecting the "off" state and then setting the icon following the same steps as above. 

How to use Key Creator

Key Creator is a web-based image editor by Elgato for quickly and easily making Stream Deck icons. 

Any images you make using Key Creator are not stored online by Elgato - you save your particular creation to your local storage, like your hard drive.
