The following article is for a software that is now considered Legacy (EOL) status and no longer in active development. The information below may be outdated, no longer available or it may not match what is possible with current Elgato products. |
Note: Wave Link has now been updated to version 3. This reimagining has all-new features and an improved interface overall. Wave Link 3 is free, and will also work with a wide variety of microphones, not just those from Elgato.
Proprietary Clipguard anti-distortion technology — developed with LEWITT specifically for Elgato Wave microphones — analyzes input in real time. When sudden peaking occurs, sound is rerouted through a secondary signal path that runs at a lower volume.
The entire process is autonomous, allowing content creators to produce clear audio that never clips, without having to constantly watch and adjust input levels.
Clipguard is enabled by default for Wave:1 and Wave:3.
Clipguard runs inside the Wave microphone and works independent of which software Wave is used in.
How to Turn Clipguard On or Off
1) Open the Wave Link software
2) Click on the Wave microphone input to open the microphone settings
3. Check the box next to Clipguard to enable it. Uncheck the box to disable Clipguard.
