To save power, Elgato Game Capture 4K60 S+ will automatically enter a standby mode after certain periods of inactivity. In this mode the Elgato Game Capture 4K60 S+ consumes around ~0.5w of power.
While the device is in standby mode, the status LED will slowly flash blue.
Enter Standby Mode in Standalone Mode
The Elgato Game Capture 4K60 S+ will enter standby mode when in standalone mode when:
- There has been no input signal for 15 minutes
- The recording button is pressed and held for 3 seconds
Wake up Elgato Game Capture 4K60 S+ in Standalone Mode
To wake up Elgato Game Capture 4K60 S+ when it is in standby in standalone mode, tap the recording button. After about 20-30 seconds the device will be able to record.
Enter Standby Mode in PC Mode
The Elgato Game Capture 4K60 S+ will enter standby mode when connected to a PC via USB when:
- There has been no input signal and the device has not been in use in any software for 15 minutes
- The recording button is pressed and held for 3 seconds
- The PC goes into standby mode
Wake up Elgato Game Capture 4K60 S+ in PC mode
To wake up Elgato Game Capture 4K60 S+ from standby mode when it is connected to a PC via USB:
- Turn on the PC or wake the PC from sleep
- Tap the recording button on the 4K60 S+
- Open software such as 4K Capture Utility, OBS Studio or other software that captures video from the Elgato Game Capture 4K60 S+
The process of waking up from standby mode can take around ~20-30 seconds.
