Note: Wave Link has now been updated to version 3. This reimagining has all-new features and an improved interface overall. Wave Link 3 is free, and will also work with a wide variety of microphones, not just those from Elgato.
Wave Link 2 has reached End of Life. It will still be available for download, but our development focus will be on Wave Link 3 moving forward. We look forward to improve audio for an increasing audience of great creators.

What's new in Wave Link 3.2 (macOS)?
🆕 System Audio Channel
There's always that one app you forgot to route. Wave Link 3.2 adds a new All audio source to the Create Channel and Add App menus, capturing all Mac audio that isn't already assigned to a dedicated app channel such as system sounds, background apps, everything all in one place. No more hunting through your app list. All audio appears at the top of the source list so it's always easy to find.
🆕 Add an Empty Channel
You can now create a blank input channel directly from the Create Channel menu without needing an audio source connected first. Set up your routing layout at your own pace, then plug things in when you're ready.
🔌 Inline Boost Compatibility for Wave XLR MK.2 & XLR Dock MK.2
Using a Cloudlifter, FetHead, or similar inline booster in your signal chain? A new toggle in Device Settings lets you disable XLR input auto-detection, preventing the input from being incorrectly auto-muted. Your preamp will now behave exactly as expected.
🛠️ Improvements & bug fixes
Fixed an issue where Wave Link would relaunch itself after quitting, causing the window to unexpectedly open in the foreground.
Better VST/AU plugin compatibility. Wave Link no longer runs inside the macOS App Sandbox, which means many VST and Audio Unit plugins that previously failed to load or ran out-of-process now work correctly, with lower plugin latency and improved reliability.
Reduced audio latency for app channels. Improvements have been made to how app audio is linked to outputs, reducing latency for software-routed app audio.
Improved Siri, Spotlight, and Shortcuts support. Wave Link actions can now be discovered and run by system services without launching or foregrounding the app. Wave Link only opens when you actually run an action.
Clearer drag handle for reordering channels and mixes.
Sound Check output picker has been redesigned with a custom popup menu, keeping it consistent with the rest of the Wave Link UI.
Virtual mix outputs (e.g. Personal Mix, Chat Mix) are now prefixed with "Elgato Wave Link" in macOS audio settings and third-party apps, making them easier to identify.
More reliable settings persistence in cases where Wave Link is force quit or the Mac shuts down unexpectedly.
Output device pickers and mix cards no longer show a warning when a headphone jack is simply unplugged. Warnings now only appear when the entire output device is disconnected.
If an audio effect crashes, Wave Link now recovers automatically and attempts to restore your effects, rather than crashing along with it.
Fixed an issue where a Wave device would become unusable after a firmware update or downgrade, requiring an app restart to recover.
Mixer channel order no longer resets after navigating away and back to the mixer.
Undo now works correctly after creating a new input channel.
Fixed incorrect band colors in the Wave FX DSP Equalizer.
Fixed an issue where Sound Check recordings could not be deleted.
Pressing Escape now correctly closes a popup menu when it is the key window.
Fixed an issue where a popup menu tooltip could steal key window focus, making the mixer appear inactive.
Fixed an issue where the settings sidebar could be hidden with no visible way to restore it.
Fixed an issue where audio effects were not shut down when a device was disconnected, which could cause unexpected audio behavior.
Fixed unexpected macOS keychain prompts that could appear when Wave Link was launched in the background by Shortcuts or Siri.
