Factory Reset Light Strip Pro
1) Push and hold the RESET button with a small tool for at least 15 seconds until the light flashes 3x.
2) Light Strip Pro will reboot automatically and color cycle before reengaging pairing mode. Once finished, attempt to reconnect it to your Wi-Fi network.
Power-cycle the wireless router
Restarting the router can solve many different issues.
Each router has a different way of being reset. There may be a button on the router or a local web page you can visit.
If you don't have those options, you may need to unplug and replug the power cable from the router, but we recommend double-checking with your Internet Provider to be safe.
Connect the PC or Mac to the same router
To control Light Strip Pro from a PC or Mac, the computer must be connected to the same router as Light Strip Pro.
If the PC or Mac is connected directly to the modem and not connected to the router, controlling Light Strip Pro from that PC or Mac will not work.
Note: Once paired to your Wi-Fi, your computer connection can be Wi-Fi or wired Ethernet.
Confirm that the computer has an active Wi-Fi adapter
Pairing Light Strip Pro using a Windows, macOS, Android, or iOS device requires a Wi-Fi connection. Light Strip Pro cannot be paired if no Wi-Fi device is available.
The Wi-Fi adapter needs to support 2.4GHz or 5GHz to discover Light Strip Pro for pairing.
An iOS device or basic USB to Wi-Fi adapter can be used if the computer has no built-in Wi-Fi.
Reset Wi-Fi network
If Light Strip Pro does not appear after resetting, try resetting your wireless network.
Windows
1) Go to Windows Start Menu — Settings
2) Click Network and Internet
3) If you are a Windows 10 user, go to Status and click Reset Network.
4) If you are a Windows 11 user, click Advanced Options and Reset Network.
5) Restart the PC.
macOS
1) Click the Wi-Fi icon in the menu bar.
2) Choose Wi-Fi Settings.
3) Select Details beside the network to forget.
4) Choose Forget This Network at the bottom left.
5) Click Remove to confirm the deletion.
6) Re-add your Wi-Fi connection from the Wi-Fi menu.
Check advanced network settings
Specific settings on a Wi-Fi router can prohibit devices on the network from communicating with each other. This would result in Light Strip Pro not being able to pair with a Wi-Fi network or devices on the network, such as a PC, Mac, iOS, or Android device, not seeing or not being able to control.
Ensure that these services are enabled on the wireless router:
- Multicast
- Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP)
- mDNS
Ensure that these services are disabled on the router, as they could prevent Light Strip Pro from pairing or wireless control from other devices:
- AP/client isolation
- Virtual Private Networks (VPNs)
- Proxy Servers
- IGMP Proxy
