What is Voice Focus
As briefly covered earlier, Voice Focus is an AI-powered speech enhancement tool built in partnership with ai|coustics. It takes a reconstructive approach, restoring missing vocal frequencies and removing unwanted noise—so your voice stays clear. Whether you're streaming, on a call, recording a podcast, or gaming, Voice Focus keeps your voice front and center.
Check out ai|coustics for additional information and to see it in action.
How to use Voice Focus
1) Open Wave Link, and look for your Wave Input channel.
2) Select Audio Effects near the bottom of the Wave Input. You should see Voice Focus at the top of the Audio Effects window.
3) Toggle Voice Focus on, then use the slider to adjust how much Voice Focus processes your audio. Moving it to the left applies minimal effect, while moving it to the right increases processing for a cleaner, more focused sound.
4) Voice Focus will only apply to microphone output if set to Wave Link MicrophoneFX or Wave Link Stream. If you’re using Discord, Microsoft Teams, or other applications, make sure one of these mic inputs is selected.
Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can I use third-party (USB, XLR) microphones with Voice Focus?
- Voice Focus is only compatible with Elgato microphones like Wave:3, Wave Neo, and XLR microphones when connected via Wave XLR or XLR Dock with Stream Deck +. Non-Elgato USB microphones are not supported.
2) Is my voice being uploaded to the cloud?
- No. All Voice Focus processing happens locally on your computer.
3) Is my voice used for data or AI training?
- No. Voice Focus does not store or use your recordings to improve its models.
4) Does Voice Focus run locally on Wave Link or require an internet connection?
- It runs entirely on your device, so none of your audio is sent to the cloud.
5) Should I always use the maximum slider setting?
- Not necessarily. Dynamic microphones like Wave DX may only need a mid-level setting, while condenser mics such as Wave:3 can often benefit from a higher level. Adjust the slider to see what sounds best for your setup.
