What video sources can Elgato Video Capture use?

Elgato Video Capture can record from a VCR, DVR, set-top box, camcorder, or a variety of other analog video sources with composite, or S-Video output.

 

Composite Video Vs. S-Video

 

Composite Video (yellow input) offers basic video clarity.

 

S-Video offers higher video clarity than Composite. 

 

SCART Adapter

 

In Europe, the Elgato Video Capture ships with a SCART adapter for capturing video from devices with a SCART output port. 

 

The included SCART adapter has composite video (yellow port), and analog audio (red and white ports). 

 

Connect the SCART adapter to Elgato Video Capture using the included cable with red, white and yellow ends.

Supported input video formats include NTSC, SECAM, PAL, and PAL/60.
