Elgato Video Capture 1.1.5 will work on an Intel Mac with OS X 10.6.8 or higher. However, we recommend OS X 10.10 or later with all software and security updates installed.
Elgato Video Capture supports the Elgato Video Capture hardware and can record H.264 and MPEG-4 video at a resolution of 640x480 with AAC audio, using software encoding. This format is suitable for video capable iPods, iPhones, iPads and Apple TVs as well as importing to iMovie ‘09 or higher without re-encoding.
By default, H.264 video is used on Intel Core 2 Duo Macs with a 2.33 GHz or higher CPU. For Macs with slower CPUs, Elgato Video Capture will default to MPEG-4 video.
The format can be changed manually in the Elgato Video Capture Preferences.
