This guide covers troubleshooting steps if VSTs are not working as expected in Wave Link.
Troubleshooting steps:
Audio Sounds Different After Adding VST Audio Effect
Some VST plugins work in Mono with a single audio channel. When these effects are added to Wave Link, to prevent audio from playing through only one side of the stereo mix, Wave Link intelligently upmixes the mono mix to both left and right stereo channels.
This may result in a slight different in sound.
If audio plays through only a left or right channel, it will now sound as if it plays through both.
To resolve this, remove the VST that is causing the channel to convert to Mono audio
No Audio After Adding VST Audio Effect
Not all VST plugins are created equal. Some may cause unknown issues.
If audio playback stops after adding a VST to an input channel, remove it from that channel.
Check supported Sample Rate
With Wave:3 and Wave XLR the sample rate can be changed from 48kHz to 96kHz. This changes the internal operating sample rate of Wave Link. Not all VST plugins work at higher sample rates, for example, the noise suppression plugin RNNoise.
In this case, when Wave Link is operating at 96kHz and RNNoise VST is added to a channel, that channel's audio stops working.
To resolve this, revert the Wave device to 48kHz, restart Wave Link and try the VST Audio Effect again.
