Elgato Capture Device Utility — Switching Audio Input between HDMI and Analog on macOS

This guide will cover switching between HDMI or Analog Audio on your Elgato capture device using macOS.

 

Note: If using macOS 14.2 Sonoma or newer, we recommend Elgato Studio Software. Instructions can be found here.

Requirements

Hardware Requirements

  • Compatible Elgato Capture Device (HD60 S+, HD60 X)

 

Software Requirements

  • macOS 12 Monterey or later
  • Elgato Capture Device Utility

How to Switch Audio Input to HDMI or Analog Audio on macOS

 

1) Launch Elgato Capture Device Utility.

2) Once open, locate the Audio Input' section. You'll find two options: HDMI Audio or Analog Audio.

3) Select the audio input you wish to use. The selected option will be highlighted.

4) Elgato Capture Device Utility automatically switches your capture device's audio input to the chosen option.
