High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) is a digital copy protection system in digital video connections using DisplayPort, DVI, or HDMI.
Elgato Game Capture devices cannot receive any HDMI signal that has HDCP protection. It can receive HDMI signals that are not protected.
If you connect an HDMI signal that has HDCP protection, then your Elgato Game Capture device will not display video.
Some devices, such as Blu-ray players and set-top boxes, will always have HDCP active.
Game consoles such as Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch will activate HDCP when an app that requires HDCP is opened, such as Netflix or Hulu
