Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) Studio is a streaming solution for Windows, that can be used with Elgato Game Capture HD hardware.
It is free, open source software for live streaming and recording.
The following article details one way to set up Elgato Gaming hardware with OBS Studio in Windows.
Please Note:
Elgato Gaming hardware and software does not work with Open Broadcaster Software for OS X or macOS.

Elgato Game Capture HD works with Open Broadcaster Software for Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10.
Elgato Game Capture HD does not work with Open Broadcaster Software for OS X.
Open Broadcaster Software and Elgato Game Capture HD Software
Follow these step, which are shown int the above video, to integrate your Elgato Game Capture HD software with OBS Studio.
1) Install Elgato Game Capture HD software, which will work with any Elgato Gaming device.
2) Install OBS Studio.
3) Launch OBS Studio.
4) Make sure Elgato Game Capture HD software is quit.
5) In OBS Studio, go to the Sources pane, and press the + (Add) button.
6) Select "Video Capture Device" - A window will come up where you can name it after your Elgato Gaming device.
7) A Properties window will appear. In the top there will be a Device drop-down menu. Choose Elgato Game Capture HD, and then your video window should appear.
