Facebook Video Uploads From Game Capture HD Software Are Temporarily Not Working

Facebook has deprecated and removed an API that Elgato and other developers have been using for years.  This article explains what this change means for you.

 

Facebook Video Uploads Are Affected

 

Elgato was using that deprecated API as a way for our customers to connect Elgato Game Capture HD software with Facebook, and upload videos to share with their friends and fans.

This API removal means that our Windows and macOS customers cannot connect to Facebook at this time, for video uploads.

Elgato has been waiting for Facebook to provide an alternative API, so that we can update our software for all of our customers.  Until that API is ready, we cannot offer video uploads to Facebook.

We sincerely apologize for this big inconvenience, and we hope that the issue is resolved by Facebook very soon.

 

Facebook Live Streaming Is Not Affected

 

Live Streaming to Facebook is still working at this time - the API removal does not affect Live Streaming.
