Elgato Gaming Hardware and macOS Software


Most Elgato Gaming hardware for macOS does not work with Open Broadcaster Software (OBS), Wirecast, or other 3rd party software. 

Most Elgato Gaming hardware only works with Elgato Game Capture HD software for macOS.

The only exception is Elgato Cam Link, which supports the UVC protocol.  UVC devices can act as a webcam in many applications.

 
Elgato Gaming Hardware and Windows Software


Elgato Gaming hardware does work with Open Broadcaster Software (OBS), XSplit, and a few other 3rd party software titles for Windows. 

The exact software that is supported depends on the Elgato Gaming hardware.

Elgato Cam Link and Elgato Game Capture 4K60 Pro have the widest 3rd party Windows software support.

Elgato Cam Link supports the UVC protocol.  UVC devices can act as a webcam in many applications.

Elgato Game Capture 4K60 Pro uses DirectShow and as such any DirectShow software should be compatible.  Here is some popular software that it can work with:
